Scientific Council on Clinical Cardiology

The purpose of the Council on Clinical Cardiology is to achieve the objectives of the World Heart Federation in the field of clinical cardiology. Council activities include:

• Conducting postgraduate training courses in less developed countries;
• Reviewing and disseminating recently published guidelines and standards for therapeutic procedures in clinical practice with a focus on their relevance to low- and middle-income countries;
• Organizing joint sessions with the Pan African Society of Cardiology, Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology and the Interamerican Society of Cardiology meetings; and
• Developing sessions for the World Congress of Cardiology.

The Council will advocate for cardiovascular research by:

• Recognizing areas in need of further research
• Facilitating multi-centre clinical research projects
• Informing the public of the importance of supporting cardiovascular research
• Encourage research initiatives linking low- and middle-income countries with Centres of Excellence
