From misleading “harm reduction” claims to tactics aimed at young people, the tobacco industry is working hard to protect profits over lives. At #COP11 last week, WHF Policy & Advocacy Officer Yunshu Wang, on behalf of the World Heart Federation and @uicc_official, called on governments to push back: protect the next generation and stop tobacco industry interference in public health policies.

On 29 September, @VinaCapitalFoundation used our #WorldHeartDay Grant to design, print, and distribute heart-health leaflets in the areas of Nghe An and Quang Ngai, Vietnam. The grant also allowed the team to screen about 1,000 children.During these screenings, 7 children were diagnosed with congenital heart disease and were immediately referred from the province to the hospital to receive proper treatment.A big thank you to our member in Vietnam for their incredible work ❤️

In September, @onenewhearttz screened 500 people in rural communities with support from our #WorldHeartDay Grant. The results were concerning: 70% of individuals screened had hypertension, and three children were diagnosed with serious heart conditions.With only one specialized heart hospital in Tanzania and limited access to affordable care, many remain untreated.WHF is committed to achieving cardiovascular health for all and supporting initiatives that bring life-saving heart care to underserved communities. The Belém Health Action Plan, the first climate adaptation document dedicated specifically to health, has been adopted at Brasil’s COP30.
