The World Congress of Cardiology Scientific Sessions are pleased to be in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2012

Held every two years in different locations around the world, this is the first time in the 62 year history of the World Congress of Cardiology that it is to be held in the Middle East.

Dubai is one of seven emirates that form the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) which is located at the crossroads between East and West. The U.A.E. is a progressive society, acts as a role model for the Arab world and has achieved world acclaim for its development and stable political environment.

Dubai is safe, tolerant and cosmopolitan and has successfully combined a carefully preserved heritage with building toward a visionary future. That future involves health care and the need to focus on cardiovascular health in a region as national data indicates that cardiovascular disease continues to be the leading cause of mortality at 28.69% within the U.A.E.

Dubai has direct flights from all six continents of the world with most flights from Europe, Asia, the Indian subcontinent and parts of Africa being only six hours away.
