THE PEARL FISHER’S NIGHT: DHOW CRUISE DINNER

This dinner pays tribute to the adventurous and enterprising spirit of the Emarati Pearl Fisherman.  Pearling was the mainstay of the city’s prosperity for many years but sadly succumbed to the development of the cultured pearl in the 1940’s.  Despite this, enterprising merchants bounced back, developing a thriving trade in gold and other commodities.
The cruise aboard one of these traditional wooden vessels (dhow) offers a completely different view of city and allows you to witness the intertwining of the traditional with modernity. You will also see many other old wooden Dhows alongside luxury yachts, splendid examples of modern architecture like the National Bank of Dubai and the spectacular Chamber of Commerce and Industry building. We will also see Sheikh Saeed’s House (the birthplace of Sheikh Rashid) and the Heritage Village which are reminiscent of days gone by.
