Expert panels

The World Heart Federation Board of Directors determined that there is a need for small scientific working groups to address three areas of cardiovascular disease: Women and Heart Disease, the Metabolic Syndrome and Nutrition. The expert panels will report to the Scientific Advisory Board.

The purpose of these expert panels is to:

• recruit scientists with recognized expertise in the topic area of the panel
• assure a global perspective through geographic representation
• propose proactive statements or actions relevant to the mission of the World Heart Federation
• react to emerging science position statements when indicated
• engage in scientific discussion with key organizations with common objectives regarding prevention/intervention
