The World Heart Federation joins AF AWARE initiative

 

Learn about this joint initiative to highlight and address issues that contribute to the growing burden of atrial fibrillation worldwide.

The World Heart Federatiion is now working in partnership with the Atrial Fibrillation Association (AFA), Stroke Alliance For Europe (SAFE), and European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) to form AF AWARE (Atrial Fibrillation AWareness And Risk Education). This is a joint initiative to highlight and address issues that contribute to the growing burden of atrial fibrillation (AF) worldwide, and is dedicated to gaining greater recognition of atrial fibrillation (AF) as a major international public health concern.  Atrial fibrillation (AF), is the most common cardiac arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm) seen by doctors; nearly 7 million people in the EU and US are affected by AF and this number is predicted to more than double in the next decades.
