World No Tobacco Day is coming up - 31 May 2012

The theme this year is Tobacco Industry Interference

Tobacco industry interference is the theme of the next World No Tobacco Day.

World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is organized each year by the WHO Tobacco Free Initiative on 31 May.

The campaign will focus on the need to expose and counter the tobacco industry's brazen and increasingly aggressive attempts to undermine the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) because of the serious danger they pose to public health.

How does tobacco industry interference damage heart health by weakening tobacco control policy in your country?  What can your organization do about it?

Campaign materials are available on WHO website >
highlights include:

1. A brochure on industry interference for governments and NGOs >

2. A flier on tobacco industry tactics to undermine public health policymaking >
