NATURE CLINICAL PRACTICE CARDIOVASCULAR MEDICINE TO ACCEPT ORIGINAL ARTICLESBeginning in July, Nature Clinical Practice Cardiovascular Medicine, an official World Heart Federation journal, will accept original articles about clinical research in cardiovascular disease. Until now, the journal has focused on scanning and highlighting research from other journals. "This move into accepting research submissions indicates the journal’s enthusiasm for its mission, which is to help physicians keep up-to-date and provide their patients with the best possible care”, said Editor-in-Chief Valentin Fuster. The journal will publish rigorously screened and peer-reviewed articles per monthly issue. A research editor has been identified to assist Dr Fuster and the journal’s advisory board in evaluating and editing the submissions. Articles will appear online in advance of publication to ensure that they reach readers as fast as possible. “The quality of the submitted articles will have to be very high,” Dr Fuster said. “Our aim is to publish only the most relevant, clinically focused cardiovascular research”.
