DAIICHI SANKYO/ELI LILLY PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WORLD HEART FEDERATIONDaiichi Sankyo Eli Lilly and Company have entered into a partnership with the World Heart Federation. The focus of which is to jointly raise awareness of the importance of patient adherence to treatment and the associated challenges of adherence in daily life. As well as to develop tools that can assist patients who have been diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and are managed with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) adhere to the treatment plan recommended by their healthcare providers (HCP). To better understand the “emotional feelings” a patient goes through after a heart attack and reasons why they may find it difficult to follow the treatment recommendations prescribed by their doctors, a patient survey was conducted in the following countries: Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Canada. The insights gained from this survey, will lead to the development of a programme with the intent of enhancing disease-state awareness. This programme will focus on the importance of patients adhering to a treatment plan developed with their HCP coupled with a holistic lifestyle that emphasizes the importance of following their HCPs advice regarding medication, nutrition, exercise and smoking cessation. Multiple stakeholders (media, public, patients, caregivers/family members, HCPs) will be targeted in a creative, educational, non-promotional and informative way. | |||||||
