WORLD HEART DAY 2009: “WORK WITH HEART”

World Heart Day, being celebrated on 27 September 2009, is calling on people to “Work with Heart”: take action in the workplace to improve health and productivity and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Currently, one-third of the global workforce suffers from preventable diseases and by 2025 the burden of such diseases is expected to increase by 25%. This does not include the expected impact of the economic downturn on employees’ mental and physical health, which is why it is so important for companies to continue investing in employee health.

Share your workplace wellness programmes and knowledge

  • Members/NGOs: are you aware of any businesses (medium or large) in your city or country that have established a workplace wellness programme to address risk factors for cardiovascular disease? Or is your organization involved in such programmes? If so we would appreciate a few minutes of your time to complete the following survey.
  • Businesses: Are you a business running a workplace wellness programme to address risk factors for cardiovascular disease? If so, we would appreciate you completing this version of the survey.

We hope you will use this opportunity to share your activities and allow us to profile them through the World Heart Federation website. Not only, allowing you to gain visibility for your programmes but also allowing others to learn from your experiences.
