Prevention & Control Journal
Official Journal of the World Heart Federation
The journal is targeted at cardiologists, primary care professionals (general practitioners, nurses), patients, the public health community and policy-makers.
The World Heart Federation launched this official quarterly journal at the Sixth International Conference on Preventive Cardiology in Brazil, in May 2005.
Articles address topics ranging from the extent and epidemiology of the problem to interventions that effectively control and prevent cardiovascular diseases, economic evaluations of successful interventions, cardiovascular surveillance and health policies, professional education, ethical issues and technological innovations particularly related to prevention. The emphasis is placed on approaches that can be applied in settings with limited resources. The Journal also publishes supplements and news of events and meetings of global interest.
Submissions and peer reviews of articles are processed electronically and authors are able to track the progress of their submissions online.
Manuscripts addressing a wide range of issues are welcome, including cardiovascular surveillance, health policies, economic evaluations, professional education, ethical issues and technological innovations.
All submissions must be in English, however, the editorial board will assist authors who submit publishable material that requires significant rewriting to improve the language.
Where possible, workshops on writing a manuscript will be offered at international meetings that have a World Heart Federation presence.
One of the aims is to help develop a new generation of scientific writers, particularly in developing countries. Your ideas and suggestions are welcome, as we try to create a truly global forum for scientific exchange and dialogue.
