Norway National NCD Alliance

Kristen Andersen and Carina Alm of World Heart Federation Member organization, the Norwegian Council on Cardiovascular Diseases/Norwegian Health Association, attended the Civil Society meeting of the WHO Regional Consultation on NCDs in Oslo this past November.

The meeting (limited to Norwegian NGOs) was attended by 25 organizations and over 50 delegates. Carina represented the Norwegian Council on Cardiovascular Diseases/Norwegian Health Association and the World Heart Federation with a great presentation on the national and international burden of Non-communicable Diseases and made suggestions on how to meet these challenges in society. Bjørnar Allgot from the Norwegian Diabetes Union represented the NGO`s at the high level meeting and presented the resolution from the Norwegian NGOs.

Working with their sister organizations from cancer and diabetes, our Norwegian members have exemplied the spirit of partnership needed for a successful UN Summit on NCDs. Many thanks to this National NCD-Alliance.
