The Political Declaration from the UN High Level Meeting on NCDs was unanimously adopted at the HLM on 19 September 2011. Some highlights of the High Level Meeting include:
- 34 Heads of State were present (compared to 25 at the HIV Summit in 2001)
- Plenary sessions were extended on both days to accommodate the 120+ Member States who wanted to speak
- Pledges of funding were made by Russia and Australia
