Getting heart health in ship shape order is the focus of a unique workplace wellness programme developed by the Heart Foundation and KiwiRail, being recognised on World Heart Day this Sunday.
ShipShape Hearts was developed and successfully piloted with KiwiRail’s Interislander staff in 2009, and is now being rolled out to most other divisions of New Zealand’s biggest freight carrying company with extremely positive results. With workplace wellness the focus of this year’s World Heart Day, Thomas Davis, Interislander’s General Manager says encouraging employers to help their employees understand their heart health risk, as well as other health factors, is hugely important.
