Kenyan-Heart National Foundation

The Kenyan-Heart National Foundation decided to organize World Heart Day as a Fun Day with the theme “Unity & Peace for a Heart” as a healing and unifying peace day for all Kenyans. The message was delivered by a representative of the Ministry of Public Health and the CEO of the Foundation. World Heart Day is also used as a fundraising event to sponsor at least one child for heart surgery each year. A social responsibility campaign was undertaken for schools as part of the Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) Prevention Campaign. There were also songs, dances and skits on RHD.

This year’s World Heart Day was extremely well attended with over 4,000 pupils coming for the event. The events received wide radio and television coverage.
