Slovenian Heart Organization and the Slovenian Heart Foundation

In cooperation with the Sportikus Institution and the Slovenian Football Association, the Slovenian Heart Foundation organized a “Heart of Sports” day and a “Run for Peace” on 21 September. There were football games between different groups and workshops for children and adults. Risk factor screening and basic CPR training were also provided.

The main event was held on 27 September in the main square of the capital. Different health and educational activities were offered and risk factor monitoring was provided. Heart health information was distributed at stands. The event also involved speeches, an orchestra performance, recitals about health by school children, and an exhibition on the female heart. 

On 28 September participants gathered at Šmarna gora, a trekking spot near Ljubljana, where screening was offered and information was distributed. A parallel event was organized at Rožnik, the capital's central walking path. To end the festivities, a cultural evening was held at the Town Hall and featured a concert and a closing address. About 8,000 people participated in all the activities.
