Bangladesh 2008

Heart Care Foundation, Comilla (Associate national member)

World Heart Day activities included a student conference, a student art competition, a general knowledge competition, a presentation competition, question and answer sessions about cardiovascular diseases, a Heart Camp, and awarding of prizes at William Carey International School in Dhaka.

The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka and a representative of the World Health Organization were special guests. 28 September featured a scientific seminar, a rally, an exhibition, and a free Heart Camp with colorful banner, a poster, and handing out of leaflets, a special newsletter, T-shirts and flyers in Dhaka and Comilla.

Heart Foundation of Bangladesh (National Member)

Activities were held to raise awareness of cardiovascular diseases, including a colourful rally, a general seminar and a Heart Camp. The general seminar dedicated to CVD prevention welcomed the general public, local leaders, teachers and representatives from social organizations, along with doctors and health care workers. In addition, a scientific seminar provided raining for general physicians in Dhaka and adjoining districts.

The awareness programme was taken to the media, with question and answer sessions on radio and television. The campaign ncluded a press conference and distribution of posters, leaflets, souvenirs, T-shirts and caps.
