The Chilean Heart Foundation celebrated World Heart Day with a literary contest on the theme of heart health at the Amando Labarca School in the town of Vitacura. Approximately 200 students ages seven and eight participated. Approximately 500 people ran a race to stress the importance of physical activity as a means to prevent cardiovascular disease; cardiologists were on hand to offer free health checks.
