• Tuesday, September 25: World Heart Day press conference given by Dr Eduardo Rivas Estany and the Dirección Nacional de Promoción y Educación para la Salud (National Steering Committee for Health Promotion and Education)
  • Location: Calle I between 23 and 25 Vedado
• Wednesday, September 26: conference on metabolic syndrome / cardiovascular disease held by Dr Juan Álvarez Gómez
  • Location: Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre, 11 a.m.
• Friday, September 28: conference on obesity held by Dr Jorge Alfonso, Vice Director Docent of the Insitute of Nephrology; conference on the importance of exercise in the prevention of cardiovascular disease given by a specialist from INDER
  • Location: Salón de conferencias de la Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País Carlos III (across from market), 2 p.m.
• Saturday, September 29: Caminata por la Salud (Walk for Health), coordinated by INDER-CRC-ASAC, 10 a.m.
  • Programa Enfoques on Radio Reloj was dedicated to World Heart Day for the entire day
  • A television spot for World Heart Day was inserted into regular programming on Cubavisión National Television throughout the day
