On Tuesday, October 2, 2007, Wayne State College students set up a Noon Nature Trail Walk with stations to inform participants of heart disease risk factors, global statistics for heart disease mortality and burden, and to provide materials to reduce risk factors. Blood pressure screenings and healthy snacks were provided by WSC Service Learning Grant and community partners. The walk took place along the WSC Nature Trail by the Student Recreation Center. This event was organized together with Wayne State College Service Learning (Midwest Consortium for Service Learning in Higher Education), Quality Foods, WSC Student Health Services and the WSC Multicultural Center.
