This month, the journal Global Heart published a paper by members of the 2014 Emerging Leaders cohort, which include Darryl Leong, Amitava Banerjee, José Pablo Werba, Jose Rocha Faria Neto, Katherine Curi Quinto, Mohammed Moniruzzaman, and Shweta Khandelwal. The published study, entitled ‘Exploring the Barriers to and Facilitators of Using Evidence-Based Drugs in the Secondary Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases: Findings From a Multistakeholder, Qualitative Analysis’, seeks to explore the major obstacles and facilitators to the use of evidence-supported medications for secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease using qualitative analysis in 2 diverse countries (Canada and India) across multiple levels of their health care systems.

This paper is the end result of the CARDIOMAPPS project, which was supported by three research assistants: Malvika Saxena, Lavanya Nambiar, and Victoria Peck.
