By signing the Sousse Declaration, 14 regional and international organizations including the World Heart Federation promised to advocate and take action at different levels to help the people of Africa live longer, better, and more heart-healthy lives.
The Sousse Declaration was the fruit of a highly successful meeting hosted by the African Heart Network (AHN) in collaboration with the Tunisian Heart Foundation on the 29 to 31 March in Sousse, Tunisia. His Excellence The Minister of Health of Tunisia, Mr Imed Hammami, as well as other high-profile stakeholders and civil society leaders from across the African region and beyond met for this joint symposium on the prevention of cardiovascular disease in Africa.
This pivotal meeting was endorsed by the World Heart Federation (WHF) and WHF President David Wood and CEO Jean-Luc Eiselé participated actively with presentations.
