WHF Board Member Daniel Piñeiro represented the WHF at the II Latin American Congress on Heart Diseases hosted by the International Heart Hub (iHHub), which took place in Bogotá, Colombia on September 8 and 9. The objective of this event was to promote a public agenda and position the importance of access to treatments in a comprehensive way in favor of patients and their families. He participated in the panel “Risk Factors and CVD Comorbidities Present in Latin America” and spoke about the implementation of the Cholesterol Roadmap, which was very well received by the audience.
The International Heart Hub (iHHub) is the world’s first non-profit organization of patient advocacy groups that promotes and supports awareness of heart disease and its therapeutic solutions to improve the quality of life of patients. Their aim is to raise awareness and understanding of heart disease, provide access to up to date information, treatment guidelines, best practices and patient support. They believe global action is necessary to improve outcomes for all patients with heart disease.
