The Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) organised its first-ever virtual event at www.nhwwhdvirtual.sg on the 03 and 04 October 2020, Saturday and Sunday due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The virtual event which will be on-demand till the end of October aimed to educate and encourage Singaporeans to understand what it takes to live a heart-healthy life and to act on that knowledge, change their behaviour as well as motivate their loved ones to lead a heart-healthy lifestyle.

A series of health talks on Hypertension and COVID-19 and Women’s heart health, Hands-only CPR, etc were conducted by cardiologists and nutritionists, etc along with easy-to-follow cooking demonstrations and a variety of exercise workouts for the different age groups to follow. These series of programmes were released progressively during the 2 event days, offering new content almost every other hour.

An hour live health talk on the topic – Debunking Myths about Your Heart Health was broadcasted on SHF’s Facebook and YouTube on 10 October 2020, 2 pm following the virtual event. The speakers, a Cardiologist, Nutritionist and Physiotherapist addressed common myths and questions from the viewers in relation to heart health.

From 29 September - 04 October, Singapore supported the global movement of illuminating iconic buildings and landmarks in red. A total of 15 locations including the Singapore Flyer, Marina Square, Victoria Concert Hall, etc were lit up.
