Tiny Hearts of Maldives

We were able to reach out to more students this year, as the number of schools participating in our WHD activities increased to 60 compared to 50 from 2016. This covers about 1/3 of the school population.

A total of 46 schools sent in 342 pictures via social media of their events, ranging from healthy heart selfies to human heart formations. With the support of MTCC, Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure and Dhiraagu, Izzudheen Faalan, the Tsunami monument and Dhiraagu Tower all shone red.

We also developed a social media toolkit with heart healthy tips and campaign hashtags to be used by organizations and individuals. Over 150 healthy heart selfies were shared on social media using our hashtags. More than 20 heart healthy tips videos were shared on social media and viewed over 20K times.
