Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru
World Heart Day 2017 was celebrated with enthusiasm at Amrita University in Mysuru, focusing on the 2017 theme of “Sharing the Power”, which emphasizes that the key to a healthy heart is to “know your heart, fuel your heart, move your heart, and love your heart.” The event was organized by the Department of Visual Communication and included an interactive session as well as various competitions for both students and staff. A student quiz was conducted based on the same theme, and other events included a bitter gourd juice competition, passing the heart, skipping, and naming movies which had the word “Heart” (any language) in the title. All these activities and competitions aimed to emphasize good heart health. In addition, a blood pressure check-up camp was organized for the teachers.
